ALDILA NV 65 Wood Shaft

Aldila NV 65 Green Wood Shaft The Aldila NV Green 65 Wood Shaft, features exclusive aerospace materials and unique Micro Laminate Technology found only in Aldila golf club shafts. This shaft material and technology provide enhanced power, consistent flex and precise feel in your golf clubs. Micro Laminate Technology in the Aldila NV Green 65 Wood Shaft allows a slim, stable profile and uniform flex and feel impossible with typical 6- to 10-layer graphite shafts. Layering translates to feel. Fewer, thicker layers lead to a dull, boardy feel. Aldila's NV Green 65 Wood Shaft uses more than 20 layers of ultrathin aerospace-grade prepreg for uniform flex and stability in a golf club shaft. PGA Tour star, Nick Price, who finished fifth at the U.S. Open, used Aldila s new NV graphite shaft in all his woods, while leading the tournament in driving accuracy. The NV has weight ranges from 65-105 grams.

Love everything about this shaft
Date: October 29, 2006
Had a great demo day fitting with Titleist representatives, hitting shafts from various suppliers (Grafalloy, Proforce, Aldila, Fujikura, etc) and found this shaft to match my 85-87 MPH smooth swing speed perfectly. This shaft in particular lowered my launch angle and reduced ball spin- just what I needed.
I ordered a Titleist 905R with the R-flex shaft in it & have played it for about 12 rounds now & love it. Can't say enough about the shaft's performance. Before and after having used this shaft, I hit 75% of fairways, so the shaft is as efficient as any shaft I have ever hit in my thirty years of enjoying this game.

This shaft changed my whole game. I went from an 18 to a 14 handicap in 2 months. I have a 65 x-stiff in my driver, a 75 s-stiff in my 4 wood and an 85 s-stiff in my 5i hybrid.I have never hit a ball so straight and with such accuracy.

Performance and Value
Date: September 30, 2009
The NV 65 is a smooth shaft that will appeal to a wide range of players. I tried this shaft on a 909d2 driver and the combination is excellent. Launches are mid trajectory with a boring flight. Does not feel boardy or mushy. I recommend to those who want to play a nice performing shaft but not yet ready to pay $100-200 for a premium shaft.

A GREAT shaft...just not for me.
Date: September 5, 2009
I gave this shaft 5 stars because it really is a great shaft....but not for me.
My swing speed is between 100-105 consistently, so I ended up buying this in a stiff shaft. I found that the shaft helps me to be very accurate but I think I lose a little distance because the ball doesnt get as high in the air as what I would consider optimal trajectory. I am a low ball hitter in all my clubs, add to that a low launch shaft and this can be problematic for distance.
Word of caution, If you do consider using this shaft please test it out first, in my case it doesnt work. Just because it didnt work for me though doesnt mean the shaft should be penalized.

Turned my driver into a beast
Date: August 6, 2009
I've never felt compelled to write a review on a golf product until now. I just put a stiff aldila NV 65 green shaft on my TM 10.5 R7 CGB max and am very very happy with my purchase. I am 6'2" about 170 lbs, 29 years old. Swing speed with the driver about 98-102 mph. I just became a single digit handicap, but my drives were killing me due to inconsistency and high ball flight. This shaft changed the game. Now I am straight, mid trajectory, and going at least 250 on every swing whereas before I was anywhere from 200-260.

I had hoped to recive a lower ball flight from this shaft and didn't. The feeling is good Though. I would look for other shafts to buy instead of this one is I was in the market for a shaft.

I put this R flex shaft in a Snake Eyes Viper XTI 10.5 Driver Head. It is both longer and more controllable than other shafts I have tried. Seems to hit the ball a little lower than expected; but it goes where you aim. You can’t beat accuracy.

I made a new 3 wood with the snake eyes fairway wood to replace my older 3 wood. I was having to much flex in the old 3 wood so I went with the extra stiff. The new club performs beautifully, the control is great and the corrections to my old 3 wood are not needed on the new 3 wood.

A wise purchase
Date: September 17, 2008
I bought the NV 65 wood shaft in R flex with the intention of adding yardage to my drive. I saw that the RSSR was within the speed of my swing . The shaft has added about 15 to 20 yards to my drive. I would recomend this shaft to anyone who needs a driver built.

The perfect shaft for me...
Date: May 12, 2008
I've tried many, many shafts with different drivers and have finally come to the conclusion that this is the best shaft for my swing.
I have a 95 to 100 mph swing speed and hit the ball fairly high. This shaft in regular flex gives me the ball flight that I'm looking for. I can turn a driver over with this shaft fairly easily when I cannot with some stiff flex shafts.
I've tried most pro line clubs with stock shafts and other shafts such as V2's (felt dead), Aldila VS Proto (ballooned), several different Fujikura shafts (too soft), and several different Graphite Design (no distance) shafts. None of which worked nearly as well as the NV65 for me.
I recently purchased a 9.5 Ping G10 with their stock shaft in stiff flex after being "fitted". Same ol' same ol'... Ballooned drives with a weak fade. Reshafted it with a NV65 reg... and presto, I now have the driver I've been searching for. Prior to the G10 the best driver I've hit was a Tour Edge Exotics in 9 deg with the NV65.

It's ALWAYS my "go to" shaft.
Date: December 31, 2007
I have used this shaft in Calloway, Ping, Cobra and on many Snake Eyes club heads including the Python Ti-4 and Ti-464. Without a doubt, this is the very best regular flex shaft available if you want a mid, boring ball flight. However, I definitely would not use lower than a 10.5 degree club head with it due to the low kick point. Ball flight would be too low for most players.

I love the color, the low trajectory, and the feel. There is no other shaft that beats it in those catagories. However, the spin rate with this shaft is a little too high.

Solid shaft, no doubt
Date: July 11, 2007
The Aldila NV 65 is a very good shaft. I've played it in my Titleist 905R and hit several of the 2007 driver models with it on a launch monitor.
This shaft produces a lower ballflight than most other leading designs which works well for a player like myself with an aggressive attack. It feels very good in a driver, though I have not hit a fairway wood with any of the NV shafts. With a great deal of tour wins under it's belt, the NV is no doubt a great shaft. Ballflight gets lower with the heavier models.
