SUN MOUNTAIN Atlas Travel Case

The protection of a hard case and the ease of a soft case, the Atlas travel case offers the best combination of safeguard features and convenience. This traveling Sun is equipped with a hard-shell top and base for maximum club head protection and soft sides that allow the case to collapse for easy storage. Fully extended, the case stands at 49 inches; when folded it reaches 24 inches. A newly added feature in Sun Mountain's travel case repertoire is a stabilizing expansion rod called Lance. "Lance" protects club heads by extending from the top of the Atlas into the bottom of the golf bag, keeping the contents from shifting upward, the bag extended and prevents compression and shaft damage. To ensure easy pulling, the Atlas comes with in-line skate wheels along with a top handle.

Excellent bag
Date: December 22, 2008
This bag has it all. It folds down easily for storage anywhere, has a lot of pockets and space inside the bag for clothes or towels to use as additional padding, and fits in most trunks.
When I purchased the bag, my concern was that the soft bag part of the case would not provide enough support. While it is soft, I use it with a lightweight standing-bag and have not had a problem in terms of support for the clubs inside.
Note that I do put some clothes and a towel in the travel bag with the clubs to provide some extra padding and to make my carry-on luggage a bit lighter.
The only real problem with this bag is that it does not stand up on its own very well.
If you don't have room for a large travel case, look no further.
Pros: Quality, Durability, Easy to Use, Features
Cons: pricey

Good Bag
Date: November 29, 2006
I purchased this travel bag about 3 years ago. I usually travel with my clubs about 4-5 times a year.
Pros: Breaks down and stores well. Protects clubs extremely well. Fits into most trunks.
Cons: Does not stand very well by itself. Protective top can sometimes be difficult to get around clubs.
Overall, if you want the protection of a hard case, with the flexibility of a soft case...this is the one for you.
