This soft travel bag doesn't offer the protection of a hard case, but the club head area is somewhat padded. If you use club head covers and wrap a towel around your clubs, you get all the protection you really need. I use this travel bag with my Ping carry bag and the two work well together. The travel bag is a good length - the clubs fit pretty snuggly top to bottom. There is some extra room on the sides so you can stow all your golf gear without taking up room in other luggage. The carry strap is sturdy, padded, and comfortable to use. Once you reach your destination, the bag will scrunch up to less than the size of a shoebox which is nice if you are staying in crowded quarters.
