PRINCE Thunder Rip

Prince Thunder RIP Tennis Racquet Triple Threat with Tungsten places titanium, copper, carbon and tungsten in three critical racquet locations: 10 o'clock, 2 o'clock and at the bottom of the handle, creating a phenomenally stable racquet design with a huge sweet spot for more power and precision than ever. The Air handle has two air-filled independent suspension legs that reduce shock by 25%, providing ultimate comfort, while the Cushion Fit Grip has a FlexFoam backing and air channel design which combines to give your elbow a rest. A great choice for beginners looking for extra power for their game, the Prince Thunder RIP Tennis Racquet best suits players with a 2.0 - 4.0 NTRP rating, includes a racquet cover and is prestrung with Prince Lightning XX 16 string. Thunder Rip 1200

Since the late 90s, I've been a fan of the Thunder 28 inch racquet (850), which I still own. When I saw this one at the store back in March of this year, I got goose bumps, so I bought it and tested it out. Wow! It has really taken my game up a few notches. My backhand has improved, I don't have to work so hard to get power on my serve and just to mention the power and control added to my forehand. And to my opponents' surprise, when they think I am out of the point, I am able to make them hit at least one more ball.
I am still re-acquainting myself with it, but if you've ever played with a 28 inch racquet before, it's like that first love, something you never forget! Try it out and if you like it, go back and buy a second one like I did. Take care and keep it in play!

Fantastic All Around Racquet
Date: December 30, 2008
I am an advanced 4.0/4.5 rated Men's tennis player. I bought this racquet initially for my wife as the range advised is 2.0 to 4.0 rating. Well, I fell in love with this racquet. As the previous reviewer, I used the longbody 28 inch Michael Chang in the 1990's. Racquets subsequently went to 27.5 inch as longbody. This racquet if fantastic. I thought it might be too powerful for an advanced player but I was able to adjust my swing without much difficulty. This racquet is perfect for the beginner and intermediate player as well as the advanced player looking for a little extra pop on the groundies and serve. The extra inch definitely helps if you are not that tall. Highly recommended (have been playing for over 30 years).
Pros: Quality, Durability, Good Value, extra power and reach, light weight
Cons: less maneuverable at the net

Great performance and even greater value.

Bought it on sale for my girlfriend. ThuderRip is superlight, very powerful, and with decent control and feel. It's perfect for beginners and those who don't have the stamina to do full swings for 3 hours. Compact swings and counter-shots have plenty of power to send the ball deep. The large surface makes it very forgiving, and I was surprised by the consistency across the string-bed. It's sweet-spot didn't have 10 times the power of the surrounding areas. It was consistent, and thus predictable.
