The complete package
Date: September 16, 2009
The ProV1x is the best ball I've played. It is firmer than a ProV1 with all the ProV1 traits. Distance, feel, response, durability-- it has it all. There are several good balls out there, but this one sets the bar.

GREAT BALL!!
Date: September 15, 2009
I allways liked high spining golf balls with good distance. Many people say switching to a tour ball will cause you to lose 10 to 15 yards in distance. Well thats a lie, I hit it just as far if not futher with these balls over the bridgestone e5. The pro v1x in my opinion is one of the best balls out there becuase it goes far and spins great with the wedges and some short irons. No dought the best ball out there

Nothing Better
Date: September 5, 2009
Although I have recently swapped my ball purchases to the TP Black ball, it is based only on price and not performance. Let me be clear to say that the ProV1x is the best ball I have played with. It has fantastic distance, good feel around the greens, and that classic Titleist putter feel. You don't get much better than this ball. The ProV1 is great as well it is just too hard to control off the tee for me because of the increased spin. All in all, when the TP Black's go back up (which I am sure they will), it will be back to the old trusty X, as in my opinion, there is nothing better. NOTE: The 09 Version is much more durable and retains almost the same feel.

Awful
Date: September 4, 2009
Worst performance ball I've ever tried. As always with Titleist it's nice off the driver, and that's about it. Feel is worse than many two peice, and it sounds clancky. impossible to get any spin and many mid irons that land in the middle of the green roll off. hard to feel and guage distances off the putter.

great improvement

These new Prov1x's are a great improvement over the 2007's. They are a lot more durable and still have the same amount of bite around the greens. It also seems to be easier to hit straight off the tee. I have been playing with these balls only when I find them so far, but recently i decided to buy a sleeve in the pro shop before I played and I ended up shooting my lowest score ever: a +1 73 from the tips. Great ball.

Wonderful ball...
Date: June 29, 2009
The ball is great. Long off the tee, great around greens, wonderfully soft off the putter. I have played a few rounds with these balls and compared to the HX-HOT PLUS that I usually play, I really noticed a difference around the greens. That said, using some of the newer wedges that promote spin will shred the ball up.
I would say the price and the durability are the aspects of the ball that hold it back from being a 5-star ball. But if you have the money to spare and can replace your balls more frequently than I can, then there are no complaints. Until then, I'm going to have to give it the 4 star rating.

ProV1 and ProV1x
Date: June 28, 2009
I just played this ProV1x and I must say it works very well. NIce yardage with the drive and with the irons 7,8,9,and pw these balls spin nicely into the greens. I hit shots with these clubs and the balls hit the green and spined back with every one of these clubs. Plus my vokey spin milled really makes theses spin. I do like these balls and I will continue to use them. ProV1 balls are really the best I must say.
Pros: Quality, Durability, Easy to Use, Good Value, spin works good

I bought the PRO V1X trying to keep the spin down in the winds at Bandon Dunes. I didn't face too stiff of winds, but it did its job. Still able to hold the greens with the wedges.

Best ball!!!! For who???
Date: June 18, 2009
The best ball ever made just got better. I've played it for a couple round thus far and it is the best ball out there. This ball doesn't compromise distance or feel. Big off the tee and soft in the putterface. However this ball is NOT FOR EVERYBODY. If your a beginner or a high handicapper you dont you don't need to literally waste 50 bucks on this ball. I may suggest the callaway HX Hot which wont wear out as easily. You'll get more distance on the tee as your swing is probably not over 100 mph, needed to compress the inner core. (that's why women on the LPGA tour prefer callaway balls)
I suggest you talk to a salesman about your handicap and what ball suits you best. For those low handicappers don't doubt this ball it is simply the best out there.

What can I say? Three years a go I played ProV1 and got my first hole in one, which I felt was lucky. After switching to the Callaway Tour iX for all of 2008 (96 rounds) I decided to try the new ProV1x and first time out, got my second hole in one. Maybe it's the ball?Distance is about the same as the iX but much better feel off the irons and putter. So I'll stay with the 1x for a while.

Titleist is the #1 everything in my book.
I've been playing with the Pro V1x since it first came out. Obviouslly, I'm now playing the 2009 version. For me, I can tell a difference between the 2007 model and the new 2009 model. I believe that the new 2009 model is a tad bit softer, yet it's a few yards longer and feels great on/around the green(s).

Better than before
Date: February 22, 2009
I bought a sleeve to practice with before a tournament last weekend, because I wanted to see how they stack up against the old ProV. I have been playing the Taylor Made TP Red LDP for about a year and have been happy, especially with the distance.
During the very windy tournament, I decided to play the back nine with the new ProV1x. TAking the conditions into consideration, it played as long as the Taylor Made, which has been the longest ball for me. THat's good. Around the greens, these were bentgrass, it had lots of grab and I like the way it feels off the putterface. That's the thing I remember about the ProV - it instills confidence around and on the greens.
One last thing...I used the same ball for the nine, which means the claim about the more durable cover is true. Very nice ball overall, good improvements.

I ordered prov 1x personalized golf balls. They are perfect. I have not had a chance to play with them yet
as the weather in NE Ohio is not cooperating yet.
I ordered these for my son and I for our annual trip
to W VA golf outing in May. 108 holes in 5 days.
The delivery was sooner than expected.
