Just got the X-Tour wedge (vintage) in the 60* with the Phil Mickelson "grind" and "mack daddy" grooves. I have been impressed with this wedge due in most part to the PM grind on the sole (which makes the sole flatter or more "squared"), that makes it amazingly easy to execute a variety of shots around the green. This "ease" occurs because the PM grind helps set the sole of the club to easily trap the ball with a closed face for a short chip, open the face for a higher flighting lob or chip, and also promotes the leading edge of the face to work under the ball on normal pitches and approach shots (to help create spin). The "mack daddy" grooves on the 60* (and available on the 58* as well) does provide even more additional spin when required. Of the two features, the PM grind is the more important factor, in my opinion, in terms of differentiating this wedge from the competition. In short, if you find the PM grind to be appealing or something that could help your game, the X-Tour wedge is a something to really consider. Otherwise, there are also some other great wedges that may be to your liking.
I also have the Cleveland CG10 and Taylor Made TP wedges (52*, 56*, 60*), which are also excellent. The CG10 is made of the softer CMM metal which promotes a great feel, plays slightly heavier compared to the others, and is in general an excellent overall option for most shots. The Taylor Made TP has a lower degree of bounce compared to the others, which allows for the club face to be opened up easily on each wedge for some additional touch shots, and TP "Y" grooves, which really grab the ball well, leading to additional spin (the most compared to the others). I have been really impressed with the TP wedges as well.
I played the CG10 wedges last year, have used the TP wedges this year, and picked up the 60* X-Tour because I found the PM grind very appealing. The CG10's gave me confidence last year when I needed to improve my short game, and along with a lot of practice, I was able to really reduce my handicap with these tools in my hands. I went to the Taylor Made TP's this year because I wanted a lower degree of bounce on my wedges to allow me to be even more creative as a result of my confidence and now proven short game. The X-Tour now adds another option to my "inventory" of wedges. Clearly, I have some great wedges (and have been spoiled) - which has helped give me confidence and improve my overall game. Given the fact that 75% of shots are made within 100 yards of the green, with these three wedges, and depending on your needs/wants, or even the type of course that you are playing, there are some great tools to help most people become an even better player.
