I first tried the Cobra Speed LD F 2008 Driver at Golfsmith because the Tour AD shaft caught my eye. I immediately traded in my name brand driver and saw immediate improvement in distance and accuracy on the course. The Tour AD shaft is lively but not whipy and the sweet spot of this club face seems larger than on my old driver.
I read that this 3w was desisgned after the driver, also having the fantastic Tour AD shaft. I liked the stiff shaft in the driver but found that the fairway shaft has less torque and is so stable that a regular flex was just as accurate as the stiff. That softer flex gives my fairways a little extra pop.
I was so impressed with the Cobra fairways that I traded in my name brand 3w, 2h and 3h for the Cobra 3w, 5w and 7w. I found that for my swing, the Cobra fairways are more accurate and longer than comparable 3w, 2h and 3h from the leading metal wood manufacturer. With my hybrids I had to put an anti-hook swing on the ball to make it go straight. The Cobra fairways allow me to take my regular swing, which allows me to hit a cut or draw (almost) on demand. I'm sold on these Cobra fairway woods.
