Excellent traditional-looking fairway wood
Date: October 1, 2009
I bought the club for two reasons: the Matrix shaft option and the smaller, traditional-looking head. The 15 degree version with the 60-S shaft fits my 100 mph swing speed, resulting in a penetrating ball flight off of the tight fairway lies of most of our desert courses. The smaller head lets me work the ball, without seeming to sacrifice much forgiveness on slightly off-center hits. I'm very satisfied with this club and two of my plus-handicapper golfing buddies are ordering one for themselves. This club replaced a Titleist 906F4 and is slightly longer on carry and total distance in actual play (spin rate is +/- 500 rpm lower so it carries the apex height visibly longer and still rolls out well).

Great Club for Any Golfer
Date: July 25, 2009
I bought the 13 degree 3 wood and was bombing the ball off the tee. The set up, ball flight, distance, and control were all great. I was hitting about 20 yards on average further than my last 3 wood. Great club!

Greens beware!
Date: February 13, 2009
I was skeptical about trading in my two X Speed Pros, but after the demo I was sold. This club is really an upgrade from the club is replaces. Most of this is because of the simply awesome Matrix Xcon shaft. The shaft doesn't allow the club head to rotate through impact anywhere near as much as the Fujikura Speeder. In addition, the mid tip seems much more stable both off the tee and turf. Best of all, the sound at impact remains pleasant yet reassuring and I even picked up a few yards (about 8-14 yards) while getting a lower, more penetrating trajectory. Shot shaping is also effortless, albeit not as good as, let say, a Titleist 909 F2. However, this club does have some forgiveness unlike the Titleist.
Overall, this is an excellent club for better (single handicap) players with very fast swings who want Titleist-like workability with just enough forgiveness to not be frustrating.
