Golfsmith Hi-Cor Hot Face Steel Fairway Wood Head: The HI-COR Hot Face fairway wood heads are designed for middle to higher handicap players seeking mid-to-high ball flight in a mid-to-oversize design. The ultra-strong 15-7 stainless steel face is only 2.2mm thick, compared to most 17-4 stainless fairway head faces that are 3mm thick. By crafting the face from 15-7 steel, mass can be placed in the rear portion of the body to provide a low, deep center of gravity and optimal launch. Face heights remain at a constant 36mm through all fairway lofts, allowing each loft to take advantage of the strong face material.

Built the 3, 5, and 7 woods using Hi Cor 50 shafts (senior). Easy to hit, and the ball flies off the face. Lives up to the Hot Face name. Excellent Fairway Woods.

I have built the high core 5 and 9 on golfsmith carbon fiber shafts and these clubs are simply the easiest clubs to hit out of multiple grass conditions. I am going to build the 3 wood to finish out my set if they ever become available again.

Built the 3 Wood 1" shorter than standard with a Golfsmith G Series Shaft manufactured by UST, and Golfsmith 1/2 Chord Blue Grip. This is my favorite club in my bag. I hit the ball farther than 200 yards, and always In the fairway with this little gem. This club offers good control and is soooooo easy to hit the sweet spot. I don't know why they give the head a medium rank for forgiveness. This club rocks. Bought the beautiful head cover too. Beautiful craftsmanship through and through, grip, head, shaft, head cover. Oh ...and feels like butter when striking the ball. Unbelievable.... GOLFSMITH !
