MACGREGOR MT Pro DW Wedge - Chrome

MacGregor MT Pro DW Wedge (Chrome) The MT Pro Wedge, designed by Hall of Fame clubmaker Don White, offers maximum playability and a classic look with superior feel and control. Everything about the wedge is designed for versatility - whether hitting from the bunker, chipping or taking a full shot. Forged from soft 1025 carbon steel with a slightly onset, curved leading edge, the profile is classically high toe and slightly squared. The soles are relieved in the heel and toe to allow the wedges to be opened without raising the leading edge. Each club is fitted with True Temper Dynamic Gold shafts and Golf Pride DD2 red and black grips. Configurations: 50 deg/6 deg bounce 52 deg/6 deg bounce 54 deg/10 deg bounce 56 deg/10 deg bounce 56 deg/12 deg bounce 58 deg/10 deg bounce 60 deg/8 deg bounce 60 deg/12 deg bounce

Quality wedge
Date: November 9, 2009
I purchased both a 56* and a 60* wedge as part of a backup set of clubs. My primary set of wedges were Vokey. After 6 rounds with the MacGregor wedges I have moved them to my primary set. Both clubs are good looking and inspire confidence when set behind the ball. The stock grip (Golf Pride DD2 Red) were so good I changed the grips in my backup irons to them. Well struck balls will spin. I had no issue chipping with the clubs.
These wedges are an excellent value.

Outstanding Wedges and Even Better Value!!!
Date: October 24, 2009
These are great wedges and very underrated. If more people tried them when buying new wedges more people would be playing them. I went into Golfsmith to buy two new Cleveland CG12 wedges and left with Macgregor wedges in 54 and 60 degree with chrome finish (which by the way is more of a satin finish)
They spin the ball plenty, the weight feels right and you can beat the forged feel in a scoring club.
Also with buy one get one free you can beat two wedges for $99.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Good Value
Cons: Durability

DW Wedge
Date: October 2, 2009
Not a better wedge on the market than the MT DW. A perfectly designed (by Don White) head that is not too big or too small. There is no offset and the feel is fantastic. A true pro golfers wedge. I hope Golfsmith keeps the same design for 2010.

Outstanding value...
Date: September 22, 2009
Good spin, work well for opened up flops, great low-bounce for hard turf on my local munies. A bit lighter than my sand wedge so coming out of the rough it seems just a bit less intuitive with the MacGregors. Very soft giving good feel, but already dinged the face of my 50 deg when I hit the deck at the driving range...oops, guess I need ot get a groove file! Nice components (shaft/grip) though and overall a very good club. Oh, but one of my ferrules has come loose already ... hope that's not an indication of poor craftsmanship--I plan on taking it in to store to see what they can do (i.e. repair/exchange).

Nice feel, a little light
Date: September 4, 2009
My local golfsmith had a deal buy 1 get 1 free. $99 for two wedges is not a bad price so I jumped on it. These wedges have a very nice feel at impact and also pretty nice finish. The satin finish is nice so your not blinded by the sun when you open the club face to hit a flop shop. The only reason I didnt give these wedges a 5/5 is because I feel the heads are a little light, not a big issue as it can be corrected relatively easily.

Excellent wedge
Date: August 5, 2009
This is a great forged wedge with a very solid, soft forged feel. Performs well on full shots, short pitches, lobs and chip shots. The grooves do not look very aggressive but they do actually provide good spin. As my personal experience, they provide better all-around performance than many other popular wedges currently on the market (Vokey, Nike VR, Cleveland CG12) except those may spin more.
