MIZUNO MP-57 Iron Set with Steel Shaft

Mizuno Golf MP-57 Iron Set with Steel Shafts The Mizuno MP-57 irons are a crowning achievement in the evolution of Mizuno's award winning Grain Flow Forging and Cut Muscle technologies. The Product Development team undertook the task of making the MP-57's the first MP iron with a full cavity, resulting in a significantly larger sweet area than any other iron in the history of the MP line. Along with increased forgiveness, the MP-57's with Cut Muscle technology will deliver the feel and shot making ability that MP iron players crave. Most importantly, the MP-57's deliver all these playing aspects, yet in a classic head profile that appeals to the better players.

Don't need new irons

I've owned dozens of irons over the years and I've finally found a set that doesn't give me a reason to covet the latest and greatest technology. The feel you would expect from forged w/o being difficult to hit solid.

These clubs feel great and are easy to hit. They look good and seem to provide accurate yardages for the club selected. The balance is great.

one of the best set of irons i have had
Date: August 21, 2009
what can i say wow, these clubs are incredible, i had the custom fitted so the were 2 inches long, im 6'5 and 2 degrees up. I got these clubs and i went out and shot a 41:( and a 35 on the back; once i got used to these clubs i could work them great such as a draw fade or straight or any other stupid shot il try to hit! The only down side is the distance. I am hitting pitching wedge from 150 now and it was at 140 kind of a bummer but who am i to complain.

Fantastic feel and performance
Date: July 10, 2009
These irons have improved my game greatly. I used to play callaway X-12 irons for about 3 years. I was about a 14 handicap. I decided that I needed new irons and I thought I would still need a forgiving set like my X-12s. I tried various clubs like taylormade burners and the X-20s. I decided to try out more of an advanced club and I immediately fell in love with the Mizuno MP-57s. I've had them for about a year now and my handicap has gone from a 14 to a 6 over the year. The feel, control and workability with these irons is unmatched. There is no better feeling then striking the 3 iron flush and watching it sit next to the cup.

competitive advantage
Date: August 18, 2008
With all the talk about gear it is sometimes a blur. These Mizuno MP57's are so easy to hit straight they seem to provide an unfair competitive advantage hitting fairways and greens. They are maybe 5 yards longer per club with the softest contact of any club of I have ever tried. You should try these before buying anything else especially if you like beating your golf buddies and friends.

workable yet easy to hit
Date: May 9, 2008
these clubs are definitely not for a beginner of for someone who plays only once in a while but for the avid golfer who gets out as much as possible on the course.
i purchased a pair of these clubs about two months ago to replace my worn out cleveland cg4 tours and to also step to a more workable club. the staff at golfsmith told me these clubs would give me the benefits of a true players iron but still be forgiving while learning how to get on these. let me tell you, he was absolutely right! they look wonderful in my bag and earn respect on the course. just make sure you get fitted. i like the lower ball flight i get with these versus my old clevelands which is giving me more distance but still retaining good stopping power. the feel of a forged iron is unmistakable as well.

MP 57's
Date: April 25, 2008
I am a 13 handi-cap and play once a week. I had Callaways(big berttha 2004 model) for 2 years and then bought a set of used Titleists 690's. I was shopping for new clubs at a Golfsmith store. I tried Taylor Made, Ping, Cobra, and Bridgestone.
While the others are good products, i personally produced better numbers on the launch monitor and loved the feel of the Mizuno irons. I highly recommend add these irons to your "shopping list". I hope you are as impressed as I was with them
My friends remark on the consistancy and sound of impact with these irons (kind of cheesy - but the crisp sound at impact and consistent ball flight instill confidence).
Get fitted before you buy. You will enjoy your clubs more no matter what the brand. Also try as many clubs at your Golfsmith store. Dont be intimidated as the staff is very helpful.

Awesome, Accurate Irons
Date: April 22, 2008
I recently purchased the Mizuno MP57 Irons and could not be happier. My previous set of irons were the Callaway Fusion with R flex graphite. The Fusions are great irons. I originally bought the Fusions for distance and soft feel, but I have learned that I sacrificed accuracy. Though I could hit them a long way, I could never seem to hit them with consistency. Shot dispersion was unpredictable. I attribute that partly to my swing and partly to the graphite shaft. Also with the Fusion I had difficulty diserning well struck shots from poor ones. They all felt the same. After hitting a friend's Mizuno MP irons at a range, I was really impressed with the consistency and accuracy. I demoed some clubs and decided to purchase the Mizuno MP 57s with R Flex Dynamic Gold. I quickly realized that the Dynamic Gold shafts were too stiff and harsh for me. I spoke with a Mizuno rep and he recommended the Dynalite Gold SL shaft, which I demoed, but the ball flight was too high. After doing some research, I elected to reshaft the MP57's with True Temper Black Gold shaft (which I soft stepped by 2 shafts) and WOW what a difference. I am ecstatic with my MP 57's. They are EXTREMELY accurate, and the Black Gold shafts provide a medium trajectory piercing ball flight with absolutely no harshness. In fact I have never played a steel shaft that felt so smooth, with virtually no sense of vibration. A well struck shot feels effortless. I admit, I can't hit my MP 57s as far as the Fusion, I'm about 5-10 yards shorter, but I am alot more accurate and consistent, and I can disern if my shots are solid or thinned or toed, etc. You hear that the Mizunos (especially the MP series) are "Players Only" clubs, but I am an average golfer, and can play the MP57 (with Black Gold shafts) with no problem whatsoever. In fact, with the improved accuracy, think they will improve my game substantially. I am already hitting more greens in regulation, and can actually hit the 4 iron which I could never do before. Just a final note, Mizuno does not offer the Black Gold shaft, you have to reshaft it yourself or get a Custom Clubmaker to do it for you. I reshafted the set myself and soft stepped them by two shafts to lsoften the flex from R to A(A+). I am an equipment junkie, and an amateur clubmaker and I am always looking for clubs that fit my swing and my game. The MP 57s are the irons for me and I will stick with them for a long, LONG, LONG time.

I played Ping ISI irons for last 10 years.. When I first played these clubs I could not believe the feel I got when the clubhead met the ball. I didn't go through any transition I hti these good right out of the box. This is the perfect club. I would advise any of my friends looking to buy a set of new irons to get  these. Or to buy these even if they are not looking. A Must Have. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY !! Forgiving and enhances skill shots more than any club I tried. By far    # 1

Mizuno MP-57
Date: December 20, 2007
Just traded in my Ping I-5's for the Mizuno MP-57's. These irons are clearly the best I have ever hit. I'm currently a 7.9 with the Pings and looking to shave some strokes with these beauties. They feel great, look great and give that incredible forged feel when struck properly. I honestly thought I would need some adjustment time in my first round playing them, but I felt extremely comfortable right out of the gate. If you are thinking about purchasing the MP-57 irons, don't hesitate any longer. You will not be disappointed.

MP 57's
Date: November 6, 2007
These irons are awesome! Great feel, great look at address and great results. I am a 15 handicap and traded in my Taylor Made Rac LT2's for these and am not disappointed. Played first round with the MP's and fired an 86 in less than ideal conditions. Ball seems to stop on a dime on the greens. Great forged club from Mizuono that even us hackers can play.
