WoW! What a great driver!
Date: October 15, 2009
I'm a beginner (4 weeks of lessons so far) and have a cheapo set of clubs. While the irons feel nice, the woods feel like a floppy wet noodle. I can't hit the driver with my set off a tee at all.
Bought this driver because the price is reduced to a smokin' good deal (lefty clubs on sale suddenly??) and reviews say it is forgiving and hits well.
I tried my 1st hits tonight as was able to SMACK the ball with this driver over and over vs. can't hit anything but the tee, ground, etc with my cheapo woods. What a great club. As I get better and better I'm sure I'll appreciate it more and more.

I purchased this driver after I had been using my Titleist 975J for about 6 years. All I have to say is WOW!! The ball jumped off the face and I couldn't do anything but hit it straight. The only complaint that i have with it, or should say had, was the ball flight was a bit low. But I re-shafted it with a V2 High Launch and no complaints after that.

Good club, stories about losing distance is true
Date: August 14, 2009
Very nice solid driver. I love it. However, as many poeple described in their review, I lost about 10-20 yards compared to my R7 Superquad.

Holy smokes - this thing is awesome.
Date: July 3, 2009
Have never hit a driver like this before in my life. Everything was super long and straight as an arrow. That's what this club does: it makes every shot straight and long. I've never been a big hitter but I was easily bouncing every last ball to the back fence of the driving range -- and right where I was aiming it.
Haven't had this much fun hitting at the range since I first starting playing and started making contact with the ball.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Good Value, no cons if your goal is to hit long and straight

Good result after shaft switch
Date: June 27, 2009
I bought this driver with the Aldila VS Proto in regular flex because the RSSR on the shaft was 90-100MPH. Even though I swing about 105 I thought that with a smooth tempo this shaft would work. Results were not good. Drives leaked right when I got after it at all. I put a V2 Hi-launch in stiff with much better results. I guess I better pay more attention to the RSSR. Got back my draw and basically took the right side of the hole out. Not as long as my 09 Burner but, acceptable results.

LOVE IT
Date: May 7, 2009
I have always been a long hitter and at 44 still can hit long when needed. I just purchased the club and OH MY... I put back to back balls on the green at 338yds. The wife was with me and she could not believe it. I love this thing and probably going to get her one too. I have the 9.5 stiff and have not had a mishit yet come off of the head. WONDERFUL CLUB..
IF I could give it 10 stars I would.

Work in progress
Date: May 4, 2009
I recently bought this club with a regular flex and 10.5 degree face angle. I am 16 years old and this is really my first real driver that I have owned. I am a 12 or 13 handicap and right handed. It has taken me a couple of rounds to get used to this club, but now I think that I have finally got the hang of it. At first I was missing the sweet spot almost every time but now I am making consistent contact. I find that it is harder for me to work this club right to left, but the club makes up for this with being extremely straight off the tee even on mishits. Overall, this is a great club for a good price.

Best Driver I Ever Hit
Date: April 8, 2009
This driver is amazing. I have a very fast swing speed and was worried about the graphite shaft. I never had good results with other drivers and graphite shafts, but I got this club with the diamana XS shaft and I hit it straighter and longer than ever before. Consistently at 300 yds. and in the fairway. Unfortunatly I was told this club is discountinued, so if you can still get one at the steal of a price that I did, I would highly recommend getting one asap.

Very Forgiving, A Little Big
Date: March 12, 2009
I have had this driver for about half a year and it is a great club. A little big but once you get used to it its not that big of a deal.
This driver is very forgiving. If I hit it off the toe or heel I lose about 10-20 yards and that is it.
From my old driver (Callaway X-460) I have increased about 10 yards on my good drives with this club.
Pros: Quality, Good Value, forgiving

Sumo 5000
Date: November 29, 2008
I'm a 2 Handicap, and used Callaway FT-3 Tour for three years and never thought i would switch. A friend of mine let me play 18 holes w/his Sumo 5000. Easiest driver to hit period, picked up 10-15 yards more than my Callaway. I bought the Aldila VSP65, Stiff from GS; I only wish it was available in a 7.5 because i hit this driver real high, but still long. Put GP Decade grip on and is awesome combo. Recommend testing on course for more than one round, if possible. took me a few rounds to realize how good this driver really is...wants to go straight all the time and miss hits are longest i have experienced yet. Takes a little practice to cut and draw, but can be done. went from 60% fairways to approx 65-70% w/this stick. If you do test one try not to swing hard, best results w/this driver is w/a smooth tempo...every time i try to rip it, it tends to draw or if i'm a little quick, it will hook...probably more my swing than the club. This is my first review of anything...i recommend you test this club w/the right shaft and give it a little time, you will like it.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Value
Cons: not available to public in 7.5

Easy to hit and long!
Date: November 8, 2008
Have the 9.5 xstiff A65 shaft. Has a nice feel, sweet sound, and mishits off the heel and toe travel. I switched from a Nike 10.5 sumo with a stiff shaft and actually was hitting it slightly further with that club than this one. My swing is about 95 and able to hit it 240 - 280 thus far with a softer ball (Callaway Tour I and Taylor Made TP Red) (only had it about 3 weeks)

I REALLY LIKE THIS DRIVER IT HITS VERY GOOD FOR ME ACCEPT WHEN I TRY TO KILL THE BALL. THE ONLY REASON I GAVE IT FOUR STARS INSTEAD OF FIVE IS DURING THE SECOND ROUND I PLAYED, THE ADILLIA SHAFT BROKE AT THE HOZZLE. I DIDNT HIT THE GROUND JUST THE BALL AND THE HEAD WENT FLYING ABOUT 25 YARDS. BUMMER. ANYHOW I HAD A UST PRO V2 SHAFT PUT ON AND I LIKE IT EVEN MORE. GREAT CLUB.

Absolutely Amazing Buy
Date: September 30, 2008
I purchased this club for one reason; I wanted more distance. What I got was far more than that. I took it to the driving range the night after I got it, and I didn't hit a single drive shorter than 260 yards. Before, I would rarely hit my Callaway 240, and 210-220 was average. Aside from that massive distance improvement, I immediately noticed that I never sliced anything hard right, and instead, I was quickly able to develop a draw or a fade when I wanted it.
Not only did I do well on the driving range, but I shot a reasonable 39 (par 35) and 40 (par 36) my first time out on our local 18-hole course. My average is around 90 for 18, and the 79 tied my current low. If you're looking for a club with great control, AND great distance, this is your club. One more thing, my swing speed is considered above average, clocking in at about 98-102 MPH.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Good Value, massive distance, excellent control
