Snake Eyes Viper Mid 15-5 Iron Head

Snake Eyes Viper Midsize Iron Head: Viper Irons bring oversize performance in a mid-oversize design. Players seeking something between the traditional sized irons (that can only be effectively played by low handicap players) and super large oversize irons (that can become overly bulky) will be drawn to the new Viper irons. Viper irons are engineered with an investment cast 431 stainless steel body plasma welded to a 15-5 stainless steel face. The 431 body is ideal due to its elongation, which allows for loft/lie customization up to 2 degrees. The high-strength 15-5 thin face (2.8mm) frees up mass to be placed around the perimeter. 15-5 is typically used to investment cast stainless steel metal wood heads due to its strength and enhanced ability to flow in thin-walled castings. An undercut cavity pulls weight back from the face further enhancing the forgiveness on off-center hits. Viper irons received rave reviews for solid feel, distinctive shape and striking looks. Nice sand wedge, easy out of sand
Date: September 24, 2009
I built a SW with my Dad at the Golfsmith clubmaking class. I'm a 10 handicap and my play in the sand is definitely an area where I can improve. The wide sole makes it extremely easy to get out of the sand. The offset makes requires an adjustment when using it from the fairway or light rough. I'm ready to buy the lob wedge while the clubheads still are in inventory.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Value

Solid Design
Date: April 4, 2009
This is my first time using a undercut head and I am sold. I honestly thought that "undercut cavity" was just the golf industries new sales pitch but I see a nice improvement in my ball flight and distance. These "Snake Eyes Viper Mid 15-5 Iron Head s" are still workable and spin the ball enough to hold the greens. They also have a nicer feel than I expected.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use

These are great heads. Have built three full sets of wedges and my customers feel the performance is unbeatable. On my second full set (3 through 9 plus the wedges) and again, good performers and the heads look fantastic

viper -15-5 replaces viper ti-4
Date: August 28, 2008
I built a set of viper Ti-4 irons and love them so much that I decided to bulild some wedges. when I went to order them they were sold out and discontinueded. the 15-5 was a comparable replacement as far as weight and size. they hit fabulous. I have the AW, SW, and LW. why does golfsmith discontinue every iron head after a year or two even if they are great?
Pros: Quality, Durability, Easy to Use, Good Value
Cons: also discontinued

Great Clubhead
Date: July 30, 2008
Awesome clubheads. Control and distance greatly improved. Never hit my mid irons any better. I built them with True Temper TX-90 shafts that were PURED by golfsmith. Lamkin Anti shock grip has virtually taken the sting out of using iron shafts.

This club is one of the best I have ever hit, it is true, forgiving and many times the shot is better than what I hit!!!!! and that is the truth.

Great feel, great results
Date: March 10, 2008
I play to a 16 handicap; wanted distance, and workability. I got both. The club face is extremely responsive and provides excellent control both in long and short irons. In the long irons I gained 15+ yards and in 8 thru w 10+. The wedges give improved control around the greens, provide impressive spin, yet still feel easy to work with. While not measurable, I believe these are the best feeling irons I have ever played with.
I chose a Grafalloy shaft in regular flex with the idea that it would provide improved accuracy over a higher torque shaft. It gave excellent results with a very noticable improvment in shot control over the shaft I had been using.

Very forgiving irons
Date: January 20, 2008
I bought a set 3thur9 plus pw,sw and aw. I built them with Precision mirco 80 senior shafts, and Crossline Jumbo grips.I cut them half inch longer then standard because of my height. I have arthritis and I don't hit the ball with consistancy, but these irons seem to very forgiving to me.I would recommend these irons to any high handicaper.

Great Clubs
Date: September 26, 2007
I purchased the 5 thru PW with the TT Dynamic Lite shafts, stiff flex and Lamkin Perma Wrap grips. My bubby Dr. Rathbone built the set up and gave them to me in about a week. All I can say is that they have added 10 - 15 yards per club, very forgiving on mis-hits and yet you can shape shots with them. The default ball flight is a high draw. I can hit the six iron about 175 without straining. They work great. Now all I need to do is learn how to put.

Really like the Viper head. Played it for half a season this year, off center hits still travel well. High trajectory with these heads overall nice feel. Customer feedback on these heads has been very strong as well, not a negative comment from any of our customers.

These were the first iron heads I have used as a full set. A friend asked me to make him a new set of irons, to replace is aging Callaways, and we chose these. He loves them and I'm happy.

Date: March 23, 2007
With these irons, I am consistently striking balls solid , high, and straight. I have gained 20 yards per club. Amazing feel. Great workability while having maximum forgiveness. These are very reliable, inexpensive irons. Great clubs and would recommend it to a 8-15 handicapped golfer.

SE 15-5 irons
Date: November 24, 2006
Noticed the forgivness right out of the shoot and confirmed with 36 holes on Thanksgiving day. love the sound and the trajectory. I have played ping i3 irons forever and wanted to try a mid size due recent lack of distance and consistancy. with these irons i'm back to a 150 yd 8 iron and with the extra loft (which i wasn't expecting) I'm hitting more greens. I highly recomend the Winn blue/black G8 grips as well. These feel great even with winter gloves on.
