Snake Eyes 600 XC Iron Head

Premium Forged Cavity Irons for All Players Finally a clean, forged cavity back made in a size that all handicap levels can play. Designed to be the big brother to the 600C irons, 600XC irons offer larger head sizes, deeper cavities and slightly thicker topline. The face thickness is 30% thinner in the top portion of the cavity than most irons made possible by a newly developed 6-step forging process. The thinner face allows for a lower center of gravity (CG) and increased cavity depth in the lower portion of the iron. 600XC irons are true billet forged from the same S45C carbon steel delivering a soft feel of a forged iron while giving the forgiveness most players need.

These are some of the best clubs if not the best clubs that I have ever played, after building these clubs and making a couple of adjustments. I played four rounds with them and played in my first tournament with them and won the Ok Challenge Championship, I have played other oem clubs and it is absolutely amazing how well these clubs are built. I would recomend them to any golfer that would like to improve his game. I have built these clubs for people that have a high handicap and low handicap and have yet to get any negative feedback.

Fantastic Product

I used to play an old set of OEMs and was looking for something new that wouldn't break my wallet. I have to say that they club heads are amazing. The feel, the confidence, the performance. I dropped 8 strokes off my game and began shooting in the 80's for the first time ever my first season out with these. My favorite club used to be my 7 iron, but now my favorite club is any iron. Once my golf buddies saw the difference, they too were sold on this head design. Whatever your handicap level, I would highly recommend these clubs.

Date: October 26, 2005
I felt like a golfer again. This club is easy to hit and still makes it possible to shape your shots as you desire. This club was made for me by Golfsmith and it is perfect. I really like this club line and the customer service experience was top notch.

Excellent Irons
Date: October 23, 2005
Being an avid golfer and always looking for a product(s) that will improve my golf game, the Snake Eyes 600XC irons have done just that. The performance of these irons is better than any set I've ever owned. In the few months that I have been playing with the 600XCs, my handicap had dropped from a four to a zero. The irons allow me to work the ball much easier than any previous set. The ball flight and shot dispersion of these irons is outstanding. The quality of workmanship on these iron is excellent. Again, thank you for developing truly an outstanding product.

Great feel...but short
Date: May 10, 2009
These are the best feeling irons I've ever hit. But after using them for 2 rounds they seem 10 yds shorter than any irons I've used in the past (mostly non-forged). The SW has great spin around the green, best of any wedge I've used. I might see if Golfsmith can adjust the lofts stronger to adjust for the lack of distance.

Glad I bought them!
Date: November 2, 2008
I bought these iron heads 2 summers ago when they went on sale.
I am so glad I bought them when I could still find a complete set!
I love the feeling when I hit the ball square and you just know you've hit it well.
I have alot to learn about the game of golf but I don't believe I could buy or build a better set of irons.
I hate to see them being obsoleted and wonder how much they could be improved anyway!

Awsome Irons!!!!
Date: June 4, 2008
I purchased a set of these irons with rifled shafts in in virtually new condition (maybe one round played) from a local clubbuilder. When I tested these out I fell in love. They took a little getting used to once I started playing them, but after a few times at the range and a couple of rounds played I have them dialed in and I am hitting my irons better than ever before. My scores haven't changed dramatically (may have shaved a couple of strokes), but the quality of my shots have. These are the best feeling irons I have ever hit. I have the 3-AW set with a SW on order. I am a average golfer who shoots around bogey golf. Hoping to increase that with the confidence I get from these.

and had not hit them until recently. Getting back into golf after some years off. I expected to have to adjust to these clubs expecting them to be less forgiving.
My second hitting session relieved all my fears. These clubs are great and will hit better than the guy holding them.
Very good feel and very consistent hitting club. Forged is the way to go. If the 675's are better than these it will be hard to believe. Since I am left handed it wont matter anyway.
Love em. Wish I had went forged earlier

Solid Performing Irons
Date: February 2, 2008
I own Titleist 704.CB's, have a handicap of 2, and switched to these immediately after trying my brother's set. They are very playable and feel buttery soft. I started with DG S300's and switched to Rifle Flighted for more trajectory control. They are much better feeling than the Titleists on off-center hits. High fades and long draws are easily accomplished with these irons. My handicap hasn't changed, but my iron play has definitely improved. I did gain about an extra 15 yards per club which has changed my game quite a bit meaning more wedges in the bag. But that's not a bad thing at all!

I had an initial problem in my assembly. Because I used oversized grips, my swing weight was very light and I could not feel the clubhead. After adding weight to get the heads into the D1 - D2 range I found the heads to be evrything that Golfsmith said they were. They feel great, shots are crisp and for those offcenter hits, they are forgiving. I would recommend these heads for any low to mid handicap golfer.

I think I'm in luv.
Date: November 27, 2007
I'm new to club making so I've tried a few other styles before I made one of these. I tried the P2 and play the G 40's. I made a 7 iron with a TT Lite shaft and tried it today for the first time. For my swing it gave me equal distance to my other clubs and is far more accurate. Oh, did I also mention I can draw and fade it on command? Have trouble doing that with the others. I'll be making a new set, especially now that the price has come down.

I love these irons. They offer the best in so many worlds: forged quality, workability, forgiveness, durability, style, value. In my opinion, they are equal to the big name brands at a fraction of the cost. Just pick the perfect shaft for an unbelievable set of clubs.

I read the many reviews and the positive ones outweighed the negatives. I built 6-AW with a set of Nippon 950's. They have a nice feel and they have enough offset and a thicker top line to put them in the game improvement area. I think the workability that some of the other reviewers have described may be a bit far fetched. I am a fairly decent player and I can work the ball. Tougher to hit those cuts with these irons, Can hit the draws and the punches and the knock downs. Overall a very nice playing club and they would benefit the mid handicapper.

This is good looking product and is very easy to hit. I am a 71 year old player and this club works good for me it is workable and is very controlable. It goes high and long. I have lowered my average score by a stroke with the clubs that I built with snake eye products.

I built a set of 600XC 5-PW with Rifle 5.5 shafts and, although it might be a bit early to get too excited, I'm really loving these so far. This is my first set of forged clubs and they feel really soft and easy to hit. My first day with them I hit all 6 par 3's (on a par 70 course) despite a wind that varied between one and two clubs. At first I thought they were a bit shorter but higher than my old Jetstreams, but I think they are just as long now. I can't get over the feel. A good hit is like hitting nothing, and the cavity back gives adequate off-center protection for us hacks. I recommend these heads to anybody.
