Snake Eyes Viper Tour Steel Fairway Wood Head

Snake Eyes Viper Tour Steel Fairway Wood Head: The Viper power you expect with the weighting options you want. Designed for players seeking ball flight customization in a large head design, the Viper Ti-460 features three weight ports around the perimeter of the head. Each head comes with a 10-gram screw weight in the rear port and two 2-gram weights in the heel and toe. Research shows that placing the weights around the extreme perimeter of the head maximizes the effects the weights have on ball flight. The high-performance fairway wood heads feature a super-strong Carpenter Custom 455 face that is plasma welded to the 17-4 stainless steel body. This combination yields a thin 2.1mm face design that promotes incredible feel. Like the Ti-460 driver head, the weights in the three ports can easily be removed and changed based on the player's flight preference. Wrench included. Extra Weights: Two aluminum 2g weights Two steel 5g weights Two copper 8g weights Two tungsten 8g weight

Short and Heavy is the Way to Go!!!
Date: April 21, 2007
I put together a 3/5/7 set of these Viper Tour metalwoods with Snake Eyes Proforce XT shafts. I replaced the weight screws with three 12 gram screws and added 9 grams to the hosel. With the extra 31 grams in the heads I was able to make these clubs 2 inches shorter than standard and still have a swingweight of D8. The shorter length makes these clubs much easier to control and hit solidly and the extra mass in the head slows down my swing, making tempo more consistent. These short heavy clubs absolutely kill the ball. Extreme distance and very forgiving. I have never hit the ball this far with these lofts. This is a great way to go for your fairway or shorter tee game. I also used this same theory to match a Viper Ti-460 driver to the set (Now, go with the Ti-464) . Remember - Short length + heavy weight + more loft = long & consistent!!! You absolutely will NOT be disappointed.

Loving this club in 3wood. Ordered
Date: June 29, 2008
the 5 Wood yesterday.
I play the 3 wood with a Dynamic Gold steel shaft and absolutely killed it today from the fairway. Probably 250 or better off the deck all carry.
Hit this thing solid and it will fly.
Cant wait to get the 5 wood.

Built this for my brother-in-law. A short hitter but added 30 yards to his drives. He's a happy camper.

Customers Love Snake Eyes
Date: November 25, 2007
I wondered if the back-weighting of a club head would make a differenc in its performance. I made one for myself and was rewarded with a head that performed as advertised. A friend tried the club and bought it from me. Since then, I have put Snake Eyes Viper clubs in the hands of many of my customers. I have watched them hit the ball further and more accurately using their new clubs. I have not had an unsatisfied customer.

Very good fairway woods
Date: November 1, 2007
I built a #3 and #5 Viper Tour Steel Fairway woods this past summer. I used True Temper XT-90 S shafts and Snake Eyes mid-size grips. I had read a review about these heads before I bought them and used some of the reviewer ideas. I used heavier weights in all three ports and cut the shaft 1 in. shorter than standard. The first time I used these clubs was in a scramble and a couple of guys playing with me both ordered a 3 and 5 set up like I had built mine. They loved the clubs. The order came after one of them was pin high in 2 on a long par 5.
Great product Golfsmith.

Good Weight and Feel
Date: October 6, 2007
I had a habit of pushing my 3 wood shots so I switched to a 15 degree hybid. I wasn't really happy with the distance so I decided to try another 3 wood. I selected the 15 degree Viper T1-4 with adjustable weights and a Graffaloy Attack regular shaft. The head feels heavy like a hybrid and gets great distance especially off the tee. Adjusting it for a draw has made keeping it in the fairway a thing of beauty.

Until now, I had a hard time using my 3 wood on the fairway. After a few times, I am getting the hang of it and this product has renewed my faith in using a fairway wood other than on a tee.

Solid Performer
Date: July 21, 2007
I bought the 3 and 5 wood heads and put Grafalloy NZ Six stiff shafts in them. The assembled clubs are almost too pretty to use, but man do they perform well! I have a bit of a natural slice, so I moved the factory weights to the proper position and I hit them both very straight. Being steel heads, they make a terrific sound when you hit the ball. They are also very forgiving on mis-hits, both distance and accuracy suffer very little from these mistakes. Now I just need the 7 wood!

Found my 3 Wood
Date: September 17, 2006
I have always been a long hitter, but have never found a 3 wood I liked. I previously had an Adams Tight Lies, and most recently a Cleveland Launcher Titanium with a UST Irod shaft. I purchased this 3 wood with the UST V2 X-Stiff 75 gram shaft, with the club trimmed to 43". After hitting this club for one day, I'm sold. I was hitting this club long and straight with the exact mid trajectory I have been looking for. I was hitting this club as long as my buddy's drivers. The ball just seems to jump off this face. I bought this club to hit off the tee and being a larger clubhead it is great for. I have not yet tried this cluboff the fairway, however. I think I'll be trying the Viper Ti-460 Driver with the same shaft now, too!

Long 3 wood
Date: July 18, 2006
I built my Viper 3 wood and have been using it for a month now and it just keeps hitting longer and longer. The more I use it on the fairways the more confident I become and the longer I am hitting with it. The same goes for my Viper 5 and 7 woods. Straight with a nice sound.
