Snake Eyes 675T Driver Head

Snake Eyes 675T Driver Head: This 460cc 675T Driver Head sports a bullet-triangle shape with three strategic weights: rear center of the head and front heel and toe. By concentrating mass in these three areas, the rear weight works as a stabilizer on off-center hits providing increased distance and accuracy. The heaviest weight is strategically positioned in the rear center of the head to be in line with the line of impact for greater energy transfer. The intention of this design is to offer middle-to-lower handicap players with swing speeds over 90mph increased distance and accuracy in a mid-flight trajectory.

Helped My Game And Confidence
Date: October 11, 2009
My previous drivers' performance left me with my 3 wood as my longest club. Golf buddy bought this club and let me try it. He built the 10.5*. I went with the 11.5* and pured shaft and am very impressed with the consistency and distance off the tee (compared to others hitting their drivers). We did discuss the sound at impact, but it doesn't affect my decision because of the results. If I had the chance, I would build my next one from a 10.5* head. Maybe I'm just trying to talk myself into it just to build another one :-)

Visually I found the triangular shape unappelling and difficult to align. I find I prefer a more traditional shape. With the package shaff the head felt heavy during the swing.

Well, it's long
Date: August 24, 2009
I haven't reviewed a club in a long time and felt like writing about this one. I tried this clubhead since it is on clearance and the shaft comes with it for free. Had it handpicked to 9* and the shaft pured (s-flex).
As the title mentions, the club is long enough (as long as my Viper tour). However, the directional stability of the club was not good for me. I only played it for one driving range session and one round, but it won't be in my bag any more. The club face is huge. This gives lots of forgiveness if you have trouble sometimes just making contact with the face. But because it is so huge, the bulge is very noticeable. Because of this, I did a little experiment before I assembled the club just dropping the ball on the face in different locations and seeing how the ball reacts. Compared to my TWGT 919 and my Viper Tour, the 675 left the ball going left and right and only straight if it hit the center (the ball left the club face much straighter on the other 2). This was very apparent while playing the club tonight. I had a very noticeable slice with the club and could play into it effectively. But if I hit the face anywhere left of center, the ball was going left.
Summary:
For the high handicapper, stay away.
For the mid-handicapper, nice and long if you like to aim left and play a slice (or vice-versa for hook).
For the low-handicapper, the triangle shape is a little different and the sound is a little loud, but would probably work just fine.
Even with the mid-launch category, it played pretty low for me at 9* with the low traj VSE shaft.

I got the 11.5 degree club head cause on my home course, I have two dogleg par 5's that can be cut if you hit it high enuf over the trees. It is a very "workable" clubhead. Want to hit it low into the wind? Just stengthen your grip and put the ball in the middle of your stance.
Initially the clubhead looks like it has a very closed face but it doesn't hit thay way. It may not be the clubhead for some that fights a pull hook.

Best Driver I have hit
Date: July 31, 2009
I received a bunch of GS gift cards for Christmas and decided to build a new driver (had been playing a 655TJ hand picked 10 deg with a Prolaunch Red X-Flex, 44", PURED). My swing speed is in the 110mph range, so take all of this review with that in mind.
I had a 9.5 deg hand picked to under 9 deg and paired it with a 44.5" ProLaunch Red with Axis X-Stiff, PURED. This has been an OUTSTANDING combination for me. I am 5-10 yards longer and even more accurate than with the TJ, which was a great driver. This club is a little loud, but has a great feel, penetrating trajectory, and is incredibly stable at impact.
I feel as though anytime I step on the tee, I can just give this thing a ride. The shaft is also very stable and offers a penetrating flight. I am not sure it is for higher handicappers as the spin rate may be low, but I have a hard time envisioning someone hitting it crooked when paired with the right shaft for them. Great shaft, great club.

I purchased the 675T driver head 10.5 degree loft. Quality head, good looking and feels very solid. I used the SE65 shaft stiff flex becasue it was free with the head. These two work very well together. I had been fighting a hook and have not hit a violent snap hook yet. I can work the ball both ways. The 10.5 provides a good launch angle with plenty of roll out. I would recommend both Driver and shaft.

Best Snake Eyes Driver!
Date: June 26, 2009
I recently bought this driver head because of the free 60 dollar shaft promotion. It is the best Snake Eyes Driver I have hit. Very nice looking, I have had numerous compliments. My 9.5 does play more like a 8.5, but I like that. I'm hitting the ball much further now compared to my Mamba 2.

It is listed as having a square face, but it certainly looks closed to me! I like to play a fade, and when I got this head in the mail and looked at it, I knew I had wasted my money. Don't get me wrong, it looks great- just don't buy it to fade it.

This one's a keeper!
Date: March 5, 2009
I've played Golfsmith equipment for nearly 20 years and this driver surprised me at 9.5. I ordered the Snake eyes green 65 shaft in the S flex and fitted it to 47.75 inches. I can choke up on this if I want and still hit it good. It goes and goes... with a great trajectory. I hit it farther than any of my other Snake eyes drivers with premium shafts and it goes straight too! Lots of carry for a 9.5. Good job Golfsmith on this one, as I have tried almost every Snake Eyes top of the line head as well as many of the Golfsmith heads. I usually end up selling them and trying the new ones. But this is a keeper!

Good feel
Date: December 12, 2008
I went from hitting the Mamba to the 675T driver. I have it shafted with the Snake Eyes VSE 65 Wood Shaft. I live in Iowa and I recently got the club put together so I haven't had a ton of time with it due to cold weather. But after 2 times on the range I have noticed a significant difference. The ball comes out hot off the club with a great sound. I love the feel at address and I definetly have gained yardage. This says a lot since I would say I am not even close to being used to hitting it yet. Has a great look and sound as well.

Just not my cup of tea
Date: November 18, 2008
I wished I could be a typical cheerleading reviewer. Just not the case. I bought this head, great in appearance, construction etc. I did read that it just might be for lower handicappers with higher swing speeds. Well I consider myself that, with a Handicap of 5 and generally a swing speed with a driver of 105mph. I shafted this head with a Snake Eyes Series 600 UST made shaft at 44". I just cannot get this to go straight. I push it, I slice it, I pull it.....but getting it to go down the middle has been nothing but a challenge. My last driver which has re-entered the bag is a Snake Eyes 653D with a Grafalloy Blue Stiff and I seem to very consistance with this driver....so why change, well I am not sure other than I am a Golfsmith customer for which they like....I buy the new stuff when available just to see if it is better....I will tell you, there is NO magic bullet, there is NO cure for a poor swing, these drivers and stuff DON'T hit it further, you have to do that. If you swing 80mph, just changing a head will NOT improve distance unless your launch angle is correct and you have been fitted with the proper loft and lie with the right ball and the right shaft. Get everything right then perhaps.......and practice practice practice. In conclusion this is a very nice looking head well constructed and if you get the right combination it should do just fine. Now with that said, I will move on to the next new head.....Best wishes!

This is one of the Best Driver Heads Golfsmith has ever offered. I have had several of them over the last 4-5 years and this one is as good as any OEM club. I have been playing the Taylor Made 2008 Burner and this is about 10 yards longer not quite as forgiving but it is lower penetrating flight.
I most recently had the Mamba2 (1 months was enought of that) the Viper 464 was a pretty good Driver, This 675T is Good.

This driver head is advertised for low handicap players with fast head speeds, but I am a 13 handicapper with a 85 mph head speed that likes this one! Best Snake Eyes Driver Clubhead (ever!)
Date: September 6, 2008
I have played and assembled Snake Eyes Driver clubheads since its inception. This by far is the best Snake Eyes Driver(9.5* loft) clubhead ever and I assembled it with a Grafalloy XFlex @ 44.50", the SW is D2. The golfball has a penetrating trajectory having a zip to it asif the golfball is impacted with extra energy.

I too was becoming extremely frustrated with
Golfsmith's 9.5 head arrival.
I am glad I waited.
After shafting with a "cheap" Proforce XT R
flex, I was rewarded with straight and long
drives that are mid to high trajectory.
I still like my 653T,BUT, this new head has
a more robust feel and kinda breeds
confidence in the sound of ball on face.
Mind you this is from a 60 yr old senior who
can still hit it 250 and more--now.

I set this 10.5 degree club up with an Aerotech Steel Fibre ss75 regular flex shaft. I tip trimmed it a 1/2 inch which should make very little difference. As I swing a S flex most of the time I found My shots tended to go right. I had a friend try it. He actually out drove Me twice(for a change) during a round and bought at at the end of the round. His drives were straighter than normal and he gained distance. His ball flighht was improved as well.

Date: July 30, 2008
Wow I am really please with this driver. I waited for a while in an attempt to get the 9.5 it continued to back order. I noticed there were 10.5's in stock. While hesitant to go with a 10.5, I changed my order because I was tired of waiting. I am so glad I bought the 10.5. I have it shafted with a Grafalloy Epic stiff. What a great combination, I have gained yardage and after only a few rounds I am hitting not only the fairways , but I am calling my shots. With the Epic shaft I would call this a ball strickers club. Hey I can even draw and fade the ball, tee it high tee it low. The ball flight is not too high at all, I would consider it a mid ball flight by todays standards. My swing speed is 97-103 which is right in the sweet area for a stiff Epic shaft. If you consider yourself a ball striker this combination of head and shaft is worth every penny. Oh and don't forget the Snake Eyes (SEDRC) head cover it fits perfectly. I am sure there will be more simular reviews coming.
