When the Odyssey chipper came out, I gave it a try at the local Golfsmith. Nice piece of equipment and accurate. But, I was skeptical about paying $120 for a club I might not use much. When I saw this head, my mouth watered. Well, I bought one, paired it w/a DG S300 and hard-stepped it to between wedge and putter flex. Took it to the local Golfsmith last night and we (salespeople and me) tested it last night against the Odyssey. It is definitely heavier and doesn't have the soft feel of the insert Odyssey uses, but with the face-milling, each of us were satisfied that the clubs equally had the same spin rate and launch angle. The Odyssey felt softer, but the Python's feedback was a little better.
This morning, I went to my course and played around with it on the chipping green. In no time, I was dialed in on distance, and this baby is deadly accurate. No problems on any lies as of yet. I even popped a few out of a bunker. here's a new sand weapon I hadn't thought of, and the ball comes out like a chip rather than a lob. I putted a few with the ball next to the collar. Much easier than trying an iron, I found I could use my regular putting stroke, and glide through the turf easily making contact near the equator every time. I can't wait to try this out on that dormant Bermuda this Winter when I travel south. It works great (so far) on this Northern Bent grass.
Pros: Quality, Durability, Easy to Use, Good Value, Features, nice weight, fine milling
Cons: had to use a rife putter headcover
