Snake Eyes Strikeline M3 Putter Head

Snake Eyes HMOI-3 Putter Head: See your line more clearly and roll the ball straighter every time! Boasting a face moment of inertia 60% greater than a traditional offset putter's, the Snake Eyes HMOI-3 Putter combines a high resistance to twisting with a more classic shape. The 431 stainless steel frame design places mass around the perimeter and rear center for stability, while the slightly offset, low neck design and silver rear mass help alignment at address. Nice Putter

I Buit the M3 34 inches long with the Winn Jumbo Excel putter grip. It lines up good. It feels good. I have better distance control with it then I've had with many other putters. I have more 2 putts and, less 3 putts. Nice putter.

not for me

This putter head seems heavy until you build it, then it strikes the ball awful light. I thought it would have plenty of weight for a belly putter but was not the case for me.

Awesome

This putter is exactly as described. I have played two golfsmith mallets for years, but today gave this a spin. It truly is a blade like half mallet. The dimension heel to toe are perfect, not too short, and the alignment mark is just long enough if you are used to the longer lines on mallets. Also, somehow the thing is just pretty easy to align. As suspected this thing is noticeably easier to handle on the 3 foot benders than big mallets. Fantastic Putter GS Designers, good work!

It Works for Me!

I built this putter quite short at 32 inches, so I set up right over the ball. The clean lines of the frame aid in proper alignment. With the shallow face of the M3, there is no need to sole the putter. This makes for clean, solid contact out of the fringe as well as on the green. The M3 is heavier than most and feels smooth and solid when striking the ball. I have raised my putting a full notch with the M3. Yesterday I had 5 birdies, all with putts over 10 feet. With all due respect to other reviewers, this putter is a winner: smooth, solid, and pleasing to the eye.

Some Positives
Date: September 27, 2008
I initially ordered this putter because of its MOI design, it had a flat back so I could backhand in short putts and it was considerably smaller than the enormous 140mm Snake Eyes Pure Balance putter that I had been using for the past couple years. Despite its size, the Pure Balance putter was considerably less heavy. That putter had great feel but putts over 15 feet took a considerable swing, and the aluminum finish gave off quite a glare on sunny days. I have been using this putter for several weeks and am growing to appreciate it. This putter was quite a bit heavier than I had anticipated but I have noticed that I am lagging long putts much closer to the pin. I have found that the feel of the putter is improved if I place the ball between the aiming line and the shaft. The further I place the ball away from the shaft, the more it feels like I am swinging a 2x4. I play on a course where the greens would be considered moderately fast but I seem to have made the adjustment and have been making the slippery three footers as of last week. The final perk to this putter is that I can easily scoop up balls with the corner of the putter.
Pros: Durability, Good Value
Cons: feel

not all it's said to be

I was anxious to get the M3. Once assembled, I soon became disappointed.
The trailing edge of the blade portion, the rear openings, is designed so if you position the putter forward in your stance and are putting on less than a tight surface, the edges catch during the rearward move of the stroke. The edges should be radiused upward so the ball can be played in all positions without snagging on grass or any less-than-tight surface.
Pros: looks good at address
Cons: Poor Design, lacks flexibility of putting positions
