TOUR EDGE Exotics XCG Fairway Wood with Graphite Shaft

Tour Edge Exotics XCG Fairway Wood with Graphite Shaft The XCG fairway wood is the ultimate expression of Exotics engineering and technical ability. It is nothing less than world-class and is without a doubt, the strongest and purest Exotics fairway wood yet. The XCG boasts the fastest ball speed of any Exotics model ever. The thrust behind this remarkable ball speed is an ultra-thin, titanium cup face equipped with variable thickness technology. The face's slimmer outer edges produce a maximum .83 COR (coefficient of restitution) for blistering shots from anywhere on the face. Combo-brazing the face and crown to the XCG's heavier steel body displaces more weight to the sole for less spin, a higher launch and greater distance. Offering peak performance from tight lies and thick rough, the XCG features a 4-way radiused sole. In fact, the XCG's contact point is less than any previous Exotics fairway wood making it one of the most forgiving and easy to hit fairway woods in golf. Play t

Been using TaylorMade fairway woods since the r5 dual. I hit the Tour Edge at a demo day and was blown away! The look, feel and playability are far superior to the TM R7 steel and '09 Burner steel. I opted for the regular flex X-Quad GD shaft since its a bit heavier than the TM's superfast shaft. If you struggle at all with fairway woods and are afraid of the cost, dont be. These are much easier to hit than you might think. The penetrating trajectory guarantees solid distance in any condition you may play in. If you havent tried one, youre missing out.

Tour Edge XCG 4 wood
Date: May 2, 2009
Bought this club to switch out a 3 wood and a 5 wood to allow me to add a wedge to my bag. EXCELLENT choice. Great feel and distance off the tee, nearly equal to my Ping 3 wood. Yet still launches high and lands softly like my Tour Edge 5 wood.

Excellent Clubs
Date: June 3, 2008
Excellent clubs all around. The ball definitely explodes off the face. Can't describe the feeling, but definitely much more pop than other clubs out there. In my eyes, the pairing w/ the Aldila DVS shaft really makes this a winner. Nice workable club. Accuracy is good too. These are the whole package. Went back for the 5 Wood, weeks after I bought the 3. In my eyes, these woods, best suit the middle-better handicapper (80-95) striving to improve their scores. The clubs are easy to hit, but beginners may want a higher ball flight than a more penetrating one. Definitely worthy of all the accolades.

Lives up to the hype.
Date: May 27, 2008
After reading about the extra distance guarantee, I went with the 16.5 degree 4 wood to get 3 wood distance, but with a more lofted club for better control out of the rough and tight lies. Really versatile and a pleasure to hit. Makes a great sound and the ball really darts off the club face.
It is more expensive than other options, but I have no regrets.

Awesome 3 wood
Date: May 9, 2008
The Tour Edge Exotic 3w is great. It is long of the tee when you need that added control. It is great out of the fairway and good from semi deep rough. It cuts through the rough as good as most 3w's. Easy to work the ball right or left.

Exotics Tour Edge 3 wood

I loved the feel of this club and it is long! My only problem was that I couldn't hit it as high as other 3 woods, but if you can get it up, this is a great club!

I am a believer - Buying another
Date: May 3, 2008
I got the 4 wood, as I play a little higher lofted driver. This club is better than I had hoped for. I have played 3 rounds with it now and got no range time before taking it on the course. My second shot with it was a cut shot 220 yards around a tree and was 6 feet from the pin. I have been able to work this both direction at will. I could never do this with my old Cobra 3 wood. I am adding the 7 wood to my bag this week.
