A true player's club.
I bought the 13.5* and the 18.5* stiff. I can't review the stock shaft since I changed them as soon as I got them. I switched the shafts for UST V2 Proforce 75 X flex. I haven't played the 18.5* yet.
I played the 13.5* and it launches pretty low for me. Probably not higher than about 20-30 feet. However I have little experience (only about 2 months) with it so maybe it's just that I haven't figured out how to launch it high. It is after all a 3 wood and I don't expect it to launch that high from the fairway.
It's much smaller and shallower than many FW woods I've seen or played with. It's like a club from the past but with modern materials, technology and manufacturing process. I like that. However, it makes it easy to get under the ball to sky it when hitting from on a tee. I like that too. Just like the old smaller clubheads, I just have to focus much more on hitting it well than on hitting hard.
It sounds like a small anvil. It looks clean at address. It impresses the buddies who can't believe how small it is.
If you want to learn how to hit a fairway wood properly, this club will teach you the hard way. It won't ever tell you "I forgive you". But eventually it will tell you "now, you know how to play golf".
