TAYLORMADE r7 Iron Set 4-PW, GW with Steel Shafts

TaylorMade r7 Iron Set 4-PW, GW with Steel Shafts An inverted cone construction gives a higher COR and ball speed on mis-hits, resulting in increased average ball speed and increased average distance, while a dampening web of soft alluminum and high-tech bonding soaks up harsh vibratoins giving the Taylormade r7 Irons a phenomenally soft-yet-solid feel at impact. With its deep cavity design, the Taylormade r7 Irons have a low and deep CG, making them easy to launch for an optimum combination of carry and control. Their moderate offset promotes the optimum combination of direction and trajectory for increased ball control and increased accuracy. T Step 90 (90-gram) steel shaft encourages a dynamic relase to promote even more speed and extreme distance, while a TaylorMade logo grip increases feel, comfort, and traction to promote the best performance of any irons you've ever hit.

Awesome irons
Date: October 29, 2009
I got these as an upgrade and while they were hard to adjust to, once you get 'em down they are awesome! They added 20-30yards to each club. The gap wedge works extremely well and helps cut strokes. The irons feel great and are fairly forgiving.
I love these clubs and my friend that have 'em love theirs to. My only complaint is that they loose their luster a little faster than most clubs.
I highly recommend these clubs especially for the price.

Where do I start?.............. Lol
I had a pair of custom made golf clubs that is as old as when I first started playing this great game which is about 8 years ago....... I needed a serious upgrade as a result of game majorly improving dramatically....... So I shopped around for iron sets: callaway x22, Nike slingshot 4D, ping 15, Cleveland hiBore xLi's, and Wilson prostaffs......... Each of these irons have their own advantages over each other....... My friend had told me about the Taylormade r7 irons and th great results he got from them.....: I looked into them for the next four weeeks and even tested them over n over....
Here are 3 reasons why I loved them:
1.) Forgiveness: I mishit n they travel the distance
2.) Workability: I can shape my shots around trees, bunkers, hazards, etc very well n easy
3.) Appearance: These irons are very appealing to me because it they are simple but created very uniquely for their usage.....
I would really reccomend them to anybody who wants to step up their game and have an advantage over the competition on the course! Thank you taylormade!

Long Overdue Purchase
Date: September 17, 2009
I was hesitant to switch from my 15 year old Ping irons, but knew that it was time to upgrade. I did some research, spoke to a bunch of people and made the decision to purchase the Taylormade R7 irons. I fell instantly in love with my new irons after the first round. Every shot seems pure and the clubs are very forgiving. Sometimes old habits are best to be broken.

This made my summer better
Date: September 4, 2009
These irons gave me the ability to hit with confidence. I am hitting the ball longer and straighter than ever. With these clubs, I've moved +10 yards per club. So now I am hitting 150 with an 8i which pleases me. These clubs are definitely worth taking a look at in the stores especially with the price drop.

Great buy
Date: August 24, 2009
I live in NY and bought a place in NC. It was cheaper to buy an extra set of clubs rather than pay the airlines to transport them every time I traveled to and fro. Especially at the $339.00 price for these TaylorMades. I had been playing Callaway Big Berthas that I loved for about 3 years. I still love the Berthas but they live in NC now and the R7's are definitely a step up. I have had them for about two months. I am at least a club longer and it often seems like more. The ball just seems to jump off the face when I make a good pass at the ball yet they are very forgiving on mishits. The feel of the club is very light in your hands. In a previous review it was mentioned that the R7's grip is narrower than on other clubs and I would agree. But, I actually like the narrower grip. I think it reduces tension in the arms and helps me make a smoother swing. The only down side is I have a tendency to seriously pull the ball every once in a while. But that is probably more me than the clubs.
Anyway, for what it is worth, I am one very satisfied customer.

Great set of Irons!
Date: August 20, 2009
I bought these irons from Golfsmith a couple of months ago and love them. I gained roughly 10-15 yards on my high irons, but the biggest thing that i've gained with them is the ability to hit low irons. I played 9 with them today and hit my 4 iron on a par 5 from just over 200 yards out and stuck it within 10 feet. Then two holes later on a 215 yard par three, stuck it within 5 feet. They are very forgiving irons, feel great at address and are a great deal at $360 (I had a 10% discount at the time of purchase). These clubs are a great addition to anyones bag, regardless of skill level.

AMAZING
Date: August 19, 2009
These irons are insane! I just bought these a couple days ago and I am hitting the ball 10-12 yards farther than my old set of MX-19. These clubs are extremely forgiving. I caught the ball thin and they only lose 5 yards or so. They are definitely workable. I am able to shape my shots at well. These irons are perfect for a high-medium handicap player wanting to lower there scores.

Date: August 16, 2009
I bought these clubs because I have reached a fifteen H.C and I believe these clubs will push me toward the single digits. They added almost 10 yards to each of my clubs, and did not compromise accuracy at all. Very easy to swing, and even easier to make solid contact, I LOVE THESE CLUBS.

I purchased these for my father to "replace" his old set of Rams which he swore by. After 2 rounds he's a convert and so far enjoys the new set. He does report a substantial gain in distance compaired to his old clubs which he is still working out. Overall a great set at a great price.

Really like clubs
Date: July 12, 2009
I really like the way the clubs look and feel. I've had to change my swing by slowing it down some because they are lighter than the Taylormade LCG's I was using before. The only negative comment I had is I wish the set came with a 3 iron.
Pros: Quality, Good Value
Cons: no 3 iron in the set

Great Clubs
Date: July 3, 2009
I just picked the clubs up, an upgrade from my starter set. These clubs feel good and look great at set up. Very easy to swing. You can really feel pure shots and your mis-hits. These clubs are so foregiving that even mis-hits are still in play. These are great clubs and i would recommend them to anyone, especially for beginners crossing over to the intermediate realm or for someone just looking for a solid club with good feel to help improve their game. A lot of playability and great foregiveness, and they look great!!! And you can't beat the price.

Longer, great feel and quality
Date: June 22, 2009
I played Mizuno MP-60 for the last 3 years. Decided to switch to more forgiving clubs. Changed to Wilson Ci7. You can see my review on this website. I managed to scratch Ci7 club face and dented it on the sole after 4 days of practice and couple of rounds.
After seeing R7 on sales, decided to test it out. I like the weight of this club. It is the same club length as Mizuno but stronger loft. With the stiff steel shaft, I added 10 - 15 yards compared to Mizuno and carried 5 - 10 yards longer than Ci7. I love R7. Therefore, I switched from Ci7 to R7.
I wish I switch to this club couple years ago.

Highly recommend these clubs
Date: June 17, 2009
I've played 10 rounds with these clubs and have been very pleased with the results. I had Callaway X-14 tours in my bag prior to this (for the last five years) and feel like these R7's have really added to my game. I have more control and I've picked up about 7 yards per club. I have a swing speed of about 118 mph and the stiff shaft does it's job. If you're looking for a very playable and forgiving new set of irons, you will not beat the value here.
