XPC Seven Hybrid Head

XPC Seven Hybrid Head: The ultra-playable XPC Seven hybrid utility design combines the construction methods of both woods and irons to create the perfect club design for replacing harder to hit long irons. The hollow construction and additional breadth allow for a center of gravity that is significantly farther back from the face. The result is a forgiving design that helps get the ball in the air with greater ease.

Good Hybrid
Date: November 1, 2007
I should have added swing weight when I was making the club, but, I did not so I had to add some to the back of the club. It performs very well and I get more distance than I did from my 5 iron. I need to keep this in mind when selecting the right club for the distance.

As advertised...

This was the first hybrid club I've purchased & built. I built this one for my daughter to fill a gap between her 5-iron and 3-wood. I put it on a Paragon Pro X2 wood shaft (A-flex). It has become her favorite golf club. She hits it with as much consistency as any club she's ever had.

Very useful club head

I built two hybrids using this head. The first one was for myself. My wife tried it a couple of times and liked it so I build a womans club with it for her. I really like the off set on it to help get me out of the rough and onto the fairway again!

effective grass club
Date: June 29, 2007
Combined XPC seven hybrid with an IRod Hybrid fairway regular shaft. I built this for a senior who needed help from off the fairway. My initial tests showed it was very effective hitting from the grass.
No complaints from the senior.

Very Useful Club
Date: September 12, 2006
My friend and I put this together with a True Temper Lite XL shaft (wood, R-flex) as a first hybrid for me. Apparently all of the hybrid hype is justified. I play a Big Bertha 4-PW set and needed something between the 5 wood and the 4-iron. The #3 hybrid fits in great. I hit a fade with my woods and up tight against trees on the left side of the fairway doesn't leave much room to play the fade. This is the perfect club for that situation. It hits arrow straight with a very penetrating mid/low trajectory. I had hoped for a bit higher ball-flight but the trajectory, again, is very penetrating and efficient and I do not think that the lower arc is a negative. I can see this being a great Texas wind-cheater and a useful utility club when I need to play the ball out from under trees. Over-swinging can cause me to spray a bit but if I use good mechanics and let the club do the work the result is very accurate and predictable. It is ideal as an approach club because of these qualities. I cannot see any reason these days for a beginner to not have several of these in their bag. You can learn to hit a 5 iron fairly quickly, use the 4 iron after a bit more practice, and maybe graduate to a 3 iron eventually, but why bother? These are so much easier. Probably the only way they could improve the club for a beginner or high-handicapper would be to give it a higher flight. Overall I am very pleased and know that this club will get lots of use.

XPC Hybrid Woods Solved My Long Iron Problems
Date: July 3, 2006
I have a swing speed of about 85 to 90, and have not been able to hit a 3 or 4 iron with any success. I decided to buy and build 3, 4, and 5 XPC Hybrid Woods. I used them for 5 rounds so far, and am hitting them long and straight. I am able to hit the 3 about 190 yds, the 4 about 180 Yds, and the 5 about 170 yds. The clubs are very easy to hit, and much more forgiving than the 7 wood, 3 iron, and 4 iron I replaced. I have no problem getting a nice high flight from tee or fairway with all three Hybrids. These clubs provide a significant improvement to my mid to high eighty's golf game.
